Summary: A thorough cranial nerve examination is an essential part of the speech-language pathologist’s evaluation of every patient. When performed, it is useful in the diagnosis of speech and swallowing disorders, and accurate diagnosis is crucial for development of a targeted, individualized treatment plan. This video course provides an overview of the neuroanatomy and physiology of the cranial nerve examination. Participants will receive detailed instructions for testing and interpreting findings of the cranial nerve examination. The course also describes common abnormalities observed for patients with impairment of cranial nerve function.

Summary: Many clinicians may feel they lack the time, skills, or competence to effectively address diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI); it might feel like one more thing on an already-long list of considerations and requirements. But if we focus on our passion for working with people and change our perspective about providing culturally responsive services, then it's not more work, it is the work. Summary: Autism can present quite differently in boys and girls, and research demonstrates that many girls and women are being misdiagnosed or missed entirely. Summary: This is the first in a two-part course is designed to bring you comprehensive information on cleft palate assessment and treatment. From glottal stops to learned nasal emission, this course will help you hone your knowledge and clinical practice skills in assessing speech disorders associated with cleft palate/VPI. The speaker will discuss procedures and techniques, and share audio and video clips to demonstrate how to assess the variety and uniqueness of speech deviations seen in cleft palate cases.
