Summary: This course is designed for speech-language pathologists (SLPs) and speech-language pathology assistants (SLPAs) who are ready to thrive as a dynamic duo in schools, whether they are seasoned supervisors/supervisees or new to these roles. Summary: SLPs need to combine their understanding of physiology with multiple related factors to determine if an instrumental exam is needed, which exam is indicated, when it is needed, and why. Then they must effectively explain recommendations and findings to the patient, family, and other team members. Summary: Each adult with dysphagia presents with unique characteristics, each setting provides different challenges, and each treatment team functions in different ways. Therefore, in addition to possessing core knowledge, SLPs need to consider all related factors and apply critical-thinking skills to meet the needs of each patient.
