Summary: This session reviews the emerging evidence of neurological manifestations of COVID-19 and identifies how SLPs can use their unique position to maximize patient outcomes-whether as a member of an interdisciplinary team or as a solo provider. Summary: This recorded session from the ASHA Audiology 2022 Online Conference provides a comprehensive overview of today's modern and highly sensitive neurodiagnostic vestibular tests, including rotary chair, cervical and ocular vestibular evoked myogenic potentials (VEMP), and video Head Impulse Testing (vHIT), as well as postural stability assessments. The presenters discuss how integrating these tests creates a diagnosis-based strategy that provides the team of diagnostic and rehabilitation professionals with direction and guidance as to the best vestibular rehabilitation therapy (VRT) strategies for the individual patient. The session includes video examples of the range of VRT strategies, including adaptation and habituation.

Summary: This course explores factors that contribute to health inequities for individuals who report a hearing loss. Individuals with hearing loss report miscommunication, inaccessible health information, reduced awareness by health care providers, and low patient satisfaction while struggling with inadequate health literacy. Summary: Approximately 1 million people are currently living with Parkinson's disease (PD) in the United States, with more than 60,000 people newly diagnosed with PD each year. Although PD can often be effectively managed by a combination of pharmacological and nonpharmacological options during the earlier stages, many individuals with PD experience progressive disability and require increased support from health and social services. This course describes a study that includes findings from semi-structured interviews with people with PD and their family members (based in Oklahoma, Texas, and Arkansas) about their current unmet needs and barriers to service delivery. In addition, the course discusses some of the future directions and avenues that may benefit the PD community.
