Summary: Inclusion and reporting of clinical research participants from all backgrounds is the cornerstone to developing representative screening, assessment, and treatment models. One way to address the challenges of including a diverse group of participants is by developing community-based research partnerships. This webinar will discuss the importance of such partnerships. Assessment for Developmental Language Disorder

Summary: This webinar will provide information to help SLPs feel more confident during the challenging process of assessing and diagnosing children with developmental language disorder (DLD). The webinar will define, compare, and contrast the features associated with various assessment tools and discuss the rationale for different assessments. The speaker will address how to select the best assessment instrument for the particular child and how to utilize information gained to inform clinical decisions.

Summary: It is commonly understood that better outcomes for management and treatment of hearing loss can be linked to greater knowledge and acceptance of the condition by the patient/client/student and their families. Knowledge is power. However, often individuals and their families do not have access to an impartial site hosting a variety of resources for review. This presentation discusses the need and development of an accessible and neutral site where individuals and their families can access diverse information and a variety of literature around topics related to hearing loss. It will also cover the steps for the development of a cultural and informational center, including tips on fundraising and overall management.
