Summary: Inclusion and reporting of clinical research participants from all backgrounds is the cornerstone to developing representative screening, assessment, and treatment models. One way to address the challenges of including a diverse group of participants is by developing community-based research partnerships. This webinar will discuss the importance of such partnerships. Summary: It is commonly understood that better outcomes for management and treatment of hearing loss can be linked to greater knowledge and acceptance of the condition by the patient/client/student and their families. Knowledge is power. However, often individuals and their families do not have access to an impartial site hosting a variety of resources for review. This presentation discusses the need and development of an accessible and neutral site where individuals and their families can access diverse information and a variety of literature around topics related to hearing loss. It will also cover the steps for the development of a cultural and informational center, including tips on fundraising and overall management.

Summary: SLPs are often underutilized in home health (HH) care settings despite the value they bring to patient care and outcomes. With the recent expansion of Medicare's home health value-based purchasing (HHVBP) model, the need for SLPs will only increase. Summary: This on demand webinar (available beginning April 27, 2024) will highlight the behaviors and characteristics typically associated with hearing loss and those typically associated with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in children from birth to age 10. The speakers will emphasize the unique characteristics that contribute to the dual diagnosis of both ASD and hearing loss. The course will explain the impacts of social determinants of health as they relate to the diagnosis of and intervention for children with ASD and hearing loss.
