Summary: In this course, the presenter discusses logical fallacies that commonly occur in spoken and written discourse and the social implications of passively accepting biased, illogical, and inaccurate statements. The presenter explains how SLPs can assist adolescents to deconstruct logical fallacies while addressing students' skills in speaking, listening, reading, writing, and reasoning.

Summary: This session discusses the benefits and steps to using a metalinguistic approach to writing with secondary students. Summary: Infants born with congenital heart defects (CHD) experience unique pre- and post-surgical complications that impact their ability to develop skills to successfully feed orally. This session reviews the disruptions to oral feeding development in infants with CHD and offers strategies to help infants thrive in their feeding skills after surgery. This session is intended for advanced clinicians who work with this special population.

Summary: Young musicians are exposed to traumatic sound levels that might increase their risk for tinnitus and noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL). Music and noise are known environmental risk factors for tinnitus and NIHL. This course examines a hypothesis that genetic variants might further explain clinical heterogeneity in tinnitus and NIHL.
