Summary: This session analyzed the correlation between the binaural summation measured via acoustic reflex thresholds and the results of the masking level difference established for 500 Hz in 60 participants. The Pearson Correlation Analyses between the MLD values and the binaural summation revealed a significant (r= 0.277; p = 0.032) correlation when the probe stimulus was presented to the right ear and the reflex evoking clicks were presented to the left ear. Although the correlation is significant, the effect size is small, suggesting that each measure may provide information about both similar and different aspects of binaural processing and can be included in a battery of auditory processing disorders (APD) tests.

Summary: Management of patients with artificial airways does not end when they can communicate and swallow safely. Summary: The session describes a case study that investigated the effectiveness of using a Comprehensive Integrated Approach to treat stuttering with a bilingual-bicultural Spanish-English adult who experienced stuttering. The case study queried whether a monolingual English-speaking clinician could effectively guide a bilingual-bicultural Spanish-English speaking adult who stuttered to transfer skills to a second language. The intervention addressed the client's bilingual-bicultural performance on measures of speech fluency, strategy use, reactions to stuttering, problem-solving, and quality of life.

Summary: It is commonly understood that better outcomes for management and treatment of hearing loss can be linked to greater knowledge and acceptance of the condition by the patient/client/student and their family. This presentation discusses the need and development of an accessible and neutral site where individuals and their families can access diverse information and a variety of literature around topics related to hearing loss. It will also cover the steps for the development of a cultural and informational center, including tips on fundraising and overall management.

Summary: A culturally responsive approach to support clients and families from all backgrounds begins with understanding and meeting them where they are. Summary: The experience of trauma or re-traumatization during a person's rehab stay can result in physical, psychological, and emotional health conditions, and can also impede therapeutic rapport, the patient's feelings of safety, and the overall healing and recovery process. This course examines trauma-informed care and its relevancy within SLP practice and discusses ways to implement practical methods of providing trauma-informed care in a health care setting.

Summary: This recorded session from the ASHA Audiology 2022 Online Conference provides a comprehensive overview of today's modern and highly sensitive neurodiagnostic vestibular tests, including rotary chair, cervical and ocular vestibular evoked myogenic potentials (VEMP), and video Head Impulse Testing (vHIT), as well as postural stability assessments. The presenters discuss how integrating these tests creates a diagnosis-based strategy that provides the team of diagnostic and rehabilitation professionals with direction and guidance as to the best vestibular rehabilitation therapy (VRT) strategies for the individual patient. The session includes video examples of the range of VRT strategies, including adaptation and habituation.
