Summary: The SLP's role in working with patients with anatomical or artificial airways can take different forms. Summary: This session shares findings from a tertiary care hospital at the center of the COVID-19 pandemic response in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, and provides an opportunity to compare and contrast findings with global patterns and local experiences. This investigation summarizes the clinical conditions, management, and functional outcomes of adults admitted to the hospital with COVID-19 and dysphagia, and offers insights into risk factors and clinical predictions of favorable swallowing outcomes.

Summary: While remote service delivery has been around for several years, eAudiology (also known as teleaudiology) is becoming a daily reality for many audiologists, in large part due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This course discusses how eAudiology addresses the need for improving patient experience, providing innovative services, and increasing clinic efficiency. The speakers highlight how the recent advances in hearing aid remote programming fit with eAudiology, strategies for introducing eAudiology services to patients who can benefit from them, and how to best utilize eAudiology during and post-pandemic. Summary: Emerging treatment approaches for age-related hearing loss include alternative interventions aimed at ameliorating symptoms and slowing down or even preventing hearing loss, in contrast with current treatment approaches, which focus primarily on amplification and communication strategies.
