Summary: Cultural responsiveness is an approach that uses both cultural knowledge/competence and cultural humility to honor a client's culture across all aspects of their treatment and learning. Cultural responsiveness is a fluid approach and requires partnership with a client as well as self-reflection. This micro course explores questions related to cultural responsiveness, like, "What does a culturally responsive interaction look and feel like?" and "How might one situation elicit many different reactions or perceptions?"

Summary: Many of the static assessments administered by speech-language pathologists have some degree of cultural assumptions and are often limited in representing diverse groups. The presenter summarizes assessments by type of morphemes assessed, type of morphological task employed, intended age ranges, and possible administration modes. The goal of the presentation is to provide clinicians with the relevant information from recent morphological awareness assessment literature for them to feel confident in selecting morphological awareness assessments for their own clients.
