Summary: This session describes the social determinants of health-defined by the World Health Organization as the conditions under which people live, work, learn, and play-and explains how patients' health and well-being can be viewed as a socially constructed phenomenon. Summary: This course describes a study that utilizes a multiple baseline across behaviors design to investigate the efficacy of a caregiver training intervention to increase the use of targeted facilitative language techniques (FLTs)—strategies that caregivers use to encourage language development in their children. The presenter shares FEES case studies that illustrate this collaborative model for dysphagia management; describes the successes and challenges encountered by the IPP team during pediatric FEES; and reviews current FEES literature in the pediatric population.
