Summary: Due process hearings are legal procedures established in special education to provide for resolution when the parents and school personnel disagree. This session reviews ethical principles associated with due process and the legal responsibilities associated with being a witness in a due process hearing. Summary: When testing children from linguistically and culturally diverse backgrounds, SLPs can use dynamic assessment (DA) as an alternative to standardized testing. Summary: Dynamic assessment, which seeks to identify a child’s individual skills and learning potential, can be a useful but labor-intensive process.
