Summary: There are many possible causes for childhood dizziness, which differs from adult dizziness. This session discusses the key components of a pediatric vestibular clinic and its staff, common etiologies of dizziness, risk factors of vestibular loss, and signs of vestibular dysfunction in children. Summary: The Video Head Impulse Test (vHIT) is a diagnostic tool used to assess the function of the balance system, specifically the semicircular canals (SCC) and vestibular-ocular reflex (VOR). This on demand webinar will review the anatomy and physiology of these systems, how the vHIT provides ear-specific data for each SCC, and how the vHIT can help diagnose vestibular hypofunction. The presentation will focus on testing pediatric patients, including test modifications and interpretation considerations.

Summary: The lived experiences of neurodivergent adolescents and adults reveal that changes are needed in how SLPs approach social communication assessment and intervention. Client-centered protocols for assessing social communication must address two goals: the needs of the student, and the perspectives and behaviors of the student's peers that support or hinder social interactions. Summary: Neurodivergent SLPs (including those with dyslexia, ADHD, anxiety, autism, etc.) have unique insights and expertise, making them invaluable assets for fostering client-centered care within speech-language pathology practice. Summary: Principles of motor learning (PML) are guidelines developed for the purpose of training motor execution of movement. Initially designed for training in the limbs, the methods have been adapted for use with the oral motor system. This course reviews how PML can be employed in training protocols targeting speech production.
