Summary: Due process hearings are legal procedures established in special education to provide for resolution when the parents and school personnel disagree. This session reviews ethical principles associated with due process and the legal responsibilities associated with being a witness in a due process hearing. Summary: Social communication involves the integration of language processing, pragmatics, and social and emotional learning, and is a challenge for children who present with developmental language disorder, autism spectrum disorder, and social communication disorder.
