Summary: This session analyzed the correlation between the binaural summation measured via acoustic reflex thresholds and the results of the masking level difference established for 500 Hz in 60 participants. The Pearson Correlation Analyses between the MLD values and the binaural summation revealed a significant (r= 0.277; p = 0.032) correlation when the probe stimulus was presented to the right ear and the reflex evoking clicks were presented to the left ear. Although the correlation is significant, the effect size is small, suggesting that each measure may provide information about both similar and different aspects of binaural processing and can be included in a battery of auditory processing disorders (APD) tests.

Summary: Childhood apraxia of speech (CAS) is a complex sensory-motor speech disorder that typically requires both intensive individualized intervention and systematic opportunities for generalization and carryover. CAS also has significant academic and functional impacts, especially on participation, language, and literacy. This session uses case studies to explore areas of need requiring different service delivery models in the school setting. The speaker discusses potential areas of collaboration to support the learning and full participation of children with CAS. Summary: This session reviews the emerging evidence of neurological manifestations of COVID-19 and identifies how SLPs can use their unique position to maximize patient outcomes-whether as a member of an interdisciplinary team or as a solo provider. The session strives to increase clinicians' confidence in their abilities to: identify common cognitive-communication symptoms for patients who have recovered from COVID-19, and evaluate and treat with an individualized, patient-centered approach.
