Summary: Published research indicates that outcomes in children with hearing loss are generally lower than their hearing counterparts. Given the cascading effects auditory deprivation and language delays may cause in children, providing differential diagnoses can present a challenge. This course identifies commonly occurring comorbid presentations in children with hearing loss and describes the process of making differential diagnoses.

Summary: This session discusses a project that established a cross-sector national consortium of self-advocates with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), family advocates, community providers, and health care professionals. Summary: Comprehensive management and treatment for children with CAPDs necessitates effective evaluation of co-morbidities and other related factors. This session will examine language and other deficits that often affect kids with CAPDs, including those in reading, receptive language, higher-order language, executive functions, written language, and social/emotional behaviors.
