Summary: Audiologists, speech-language pathologists, and assistants strive to provide client-centered, evidence-based care, but they may have questions: What is considered evidence-based practice (EBP)? How do I make an evidence-based clinical decision? Are there tools for simplifying the EBP process? This course illuminates EBP concepts and guides you through clinical scenario activities while highlighting free, time-saving ASHA EBP resources and tools, such as ASHA's EBP Toolkit. Summary: This session discusses a project that established a cross-sector national consortium of self-advocates with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), family advocates, community providers, and health care professionals. The consortium guides and evaluates an environmental scan and literature review on best practices in educating health care professional students in the care of persons with IDD, including health care professional students addressing communication disorders.
