Summary: This session addresses the diagnosis of pediatric vestibular and balance disorders. Summary: Motor speech disorders occur secondary to a wide variety of progressive neurological disorders. This course discusses strategies for the speaker, listener, and environment that clinicians can consider for managing progressive motor speech disorders. Summary: This session discusses auditory brainstem implants (ABI) as an option for individuals who typically cannot benefit from conventional amplification or cochlear implants as they don't have an implantable cochlea or functioning 8th nerve. Summary: This recorded session from the ASHA Audiology 2022 Online Conference provides a comprehensive overview of today's modern and highly sensitive neurodiagnostic vestibular tests, including rotary chair, cervical and ocular vestibular evoked myogenic potentials (VEMP), and video Head Impulse Testing (vHIT), as well as postural stability assessments. Summary: This recorded session from the ASHA Audiology 2022 Online Conference examines the state of the literature supporting clinical decision-making about pediatric hearing aid candidacy. The speaker reviews the main types of bias that can potentially influence our thinking about who is and is not a candidate for a hearing aid. Summary: This session reviews the emerging evidence of neurological manifestations of COVID-19 and identifies how SLPs can use their unique position to maximize patient outcomes-whether as a member of an interdisciplinary team or as a solo provider. The session strives to increase clinicians' confidence in their abilities to: identify common cognitive-communication symptoms for patients who have recovered from COVID-19, and evaluate and treat with an individualized, patient-centered approach.
