Summary: This course describes a study that utilizes a multiple baseline across behaviors design to investigate the efficacy of a caregiver training intervention to increase the use of targeted facilitative language techniques (FLTs)—strategies that caregivers use to encourage language development in their children. Without attention and intervention, professional fatigue can negatively impact a professional’s home life, relationships, personal well-being, work life, and/or ability to deliver person-centered care. This course explores the concepts of empathy, emotional contagion, compassion fatigue, vicarious traumatization, and burnout as they relate to the professions and offers tips to avoid and address these challenges.
