Summary: This webinar will explore the special education process from referral to dismissal under the federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) as it relates to students with speech-language disorders. The speaker will discuss the role of the SLP, response to intervention (RTI) strategies, and the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) with specific goals to meet the individual needs of students. The webinar will discuss principles and rules from the ASHA Code of Ethics that support ethical decision-making throughout the process.
