Summary: This journal self-study focuses on rationale and techniques for enhancing clinicians’ cultural competence when working in Native American and tribal communities. Summary: SLPs are increasingly involved in the care of patients with head and neck cancer. The articles are from a 2021 American Journal of Speech-Language Pathology forum "Interdisciplinary Management of Concussion or Mild TBI." Summary: As states, payers, patients, and clients consider telepractice as an alternative service delivery model, many audiologists are struggling to adapt their in-person practices to teleaudiology and are overwhelmed by quickly evolving coding and payment laws and regulations. This course provides practical information to help audiologists assess their own readiness for telehealth – as well as client and patient readiness – and develop a plan to implement this service delivery model. The presenters also discuss coding, payment, and compliance considerations and provide resources to help audiologists navigate changing regulations and ensure coding and payment compliance.

Summary: This journal self-study updates clinicians on advances in the field that can refine current diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for childhood apraxia of speech (CAS). Two articles address assessment: One examines how type of stimuli can affect differential diagnosis of CAS, and the other identifies possible red flags in young children by examining characteristics of speech production in infants and toddlers who were later diagnosed with CAS. Two additional articles address advances in intervention for CAS: One looks at the efficacy of adding prosody as a treatment component, and the other explores a model-based treatment protocol.
