Summary: SLPs are increasingly involved in the care of patients with head and neck cancer. While preventative dysphagia services are accepted as standard of care, many clinicians don't have the background in this population to determine how to best evaluate and treat patients prior to radiation. Summary: This session presents a study of 19 children ages 5-7 with inaccurate /r/ who were followed every 3 months until they acquired /r/ or turned 8 years old, whichever came first. Acquisition was determined for three separate allophones of /r/: vocalic, prevocalic, and postvocalic.

Summary: This session discusses auditory brainstem implants (ABI) as an option for individuals who typically cannot benefit from conventional amplification or cochlear implants as they don't have an implantable cochlea or functioning 8th nerve.
