Summary: In this session, the authors briefly review the literature on the developmental risks and auditory effects of pediatric unilateral hearing loss. Then, members of the Boston Children's Hospital's Cochlear Implant team discuss (a) the interdisciplinary evaluation process for determining candidacy for cochlear implantation, (b) the institution's aural rehabilitation protocol post-surgery, (c) specific outcome measures used to determine benefit, and (d) initial audiological outcomes for cochlear implant users with single-sided deafness.

Summary: This on demand webinar will discuss evaluating children with voice disorders, including determining the appropriate clinical path to a comprehensive voice evaluation. The speaker will present strategies and techniques for collecting and evaluating voice samples; highlight no-tech and low-tech assessment methods; and discuss the importance of identifying children with dysphonic voices from an educational and social-emotional perspective. Summary: This session is a clinical tutorial that uses cases examples to integrate the practices of language sample analysis and fluency assessment. It focuses on the implementation of fluency codes in narrative retell language samples. Speakers provide information on how to identify and accurately code specific types of disfluencies within a narrative retell language sample. The tutorial provides clinicians with practical tools to use in particular narrative retell language samples to assess fluency and language production skills in bilingual and monolingual children.
