Summary: This presentation highlights case studies exhibiting the SLP's role in assessing and treating previously healthy toddlers with disorders of consciousness in the acute rehab setting. These case studies demonstrate the opportunities and challenges of utilizing the pediatric Coma Recovery Scale when assessing these patients, the relationship between emerging oral motor skills and cognition, and treatment approaches for returning to PO intake in this population. Finally, these case studies highlight how interdisciplinary collaboration is one of the keys to success with this patient population.

Summary: This session reviews the emerging evidence of neurological manifestations of COVID-19 and identifies how SLPs can use their unique position to maximize patient outcomes-whether as a member of an interdisciplinary team or as a solo provider. The session strives to increase clinicians' confidence in their abilities to: identify common cognitive-communication symptoms for patients who have recovered from COVID-19, and evaluate and treat with an individualized, patient-centered approach.

Summary: This presentation describes the case of a 48-year-old female presenting with vertigo and disequilibrium consistent with mal de debarquement (MdDS) following a weeklong vacation cruise. MRI images, audiometric, and vestibular results are presented, as well as an in-depth review of MdDS and Chiari malformation and their impact on vestibular function and quality of life.

Summary: This course describes a study that includes findings from semi-structured interviews with people with Parkinson's disease (PD) and their family members (based in Oklahoma, Texas, and Arkansas) about their current unmet needs and barriers to service delivery. In addition, the course discusses some of the future directions and avenues that may benefit the PD community.

Summary: In the era of COVID-19, clinicians in health care settings have faced challenges in the evaluation and treatment of a new patient population - those who have had COVID-19 - requiring us to reframe our current treatment techniques. This session focuses on reinventing the SLP's approach to treatment of respiratory activity tolerance for motor speech.

Summary: There is a high prevalence of brain injury among youth and adults in the criminal justice system. The cognitive-communication impairments associated with brain injury can be a risk factor for both justice involvement and recidivism as well as barrier to successful community reintegration. This session focuses on the emerging role of SLPs with this underserved population, which may include assessment and intervention but may also include advocacy as well as training and education of front-line staff and justice professionals.

Summary: Motor speech disorders occur secondary to a wide variety of progressive neurological disorders. This course discusses strategies for the speaker, listener, and environment that clinicians can consider for managing progressive motor speech disorders. Summary: This recorded session from the ASHA Audiology 2022 Online Conference provides a comprehensive overview of today's modern and highly sensitive neurodiagnostic vestibular tests, including rotary chair, cervical and ocular vestibular evoked myogenic potentials (VEMP), and video Head Impulse Testing (vHIT), as well as postural stability assessments. The presenters discuss how integrating these tests creates a diagnosis-based strategy that provides the team of diagnostic and rehabilitation professionals with direction and guidance as to the best vestibular rehabilitation therapy (VRT) strategies for the individual patient. The session includes video examples of the range of VRT strategies, including adaptation and habituation.
