Summary: In the era of COVID-19, clinicians in health care settings have faced challenges in the evaluation and treatment of a new patient population - those who have had COVID-19 - requiring us to reframe our current treatment techniques. This session focuses on reinventing the speech-language pathologist's approach to treatment of respiratory activity tolerance for motor speech. It addresses collaboration with physical and occupational therapists for incorporation of dual motor tasks with more traditional treatment. Summary: Neurodivergent SLPs (including those with dyslexia, ADHD, anxiety, autism, etc.) have unique insights and expertise, making them invaluable assets for fostering client-centered care within speech-language pathology practice. In this session, three neurodivergent SLPs who started their own private practices due to lack of supportive and accessible options discuss employment and supervision barriers. They share systemic and individualistic shifts to support neurodivergent SLPs.

Summary: This session presents a study of 19 children ages 5-7 with inaccurate /r/ who were followed every 3 months until they acquired /r/ or turned 8 years old, whichever came first. Acquisition was determined for three separate allophones of /r/: vocalic, prevocalic, and postvocalic.

Summary: This session from ASHA's 2021 Schools Connect online conference explores best practices for delivering telepractice within the educational model. Using the evidence-based practice triangle of clinical expertise, evidence, and student-caregiver perspectives as a guide, the presenter discusses issues to consider before, during, and after a tele-encounter. The presenter explains cognitive load theory and computer-mediated communication and their application to digital evaluation and treatment. The session also includes methods and strategies for selecting and designing digital and nondigital assessment and treatment materials.
