Summary: This recorded session from the ASHA Audiology 2022 Online Conference provides a comprehensive overview of today's modern and highly sensitive neurodiagnostic vestibular tests, including rotary chair, cervical and ocular vestibular evoked myogenic potentials (VEMP), and video Head Impulse Testing (vHIT), as well as postural stability assessments. The presenters discuss how integrating these tests creates a diagnosis-based strategy that provides the team of diagnostic and rehabilitation professionals with direction and guidance as to the best vestibular rehabilitation therapy (VRT) strategies for the individual patient. Summary: Diet texture modification-specifically, thickening of liquid consistencies-is often recommended to compensate for dysphagia in pediatric populations due to their physical and cognitive immaturity. This session discusses the evidence in support of this popular management recommendation and explores the many variables that can impact its effectiveness. Summary: There is evidence that many factors contribute to the varied performance outcomes among pediatric cochlear implant (CI) recipients, including etiology and quality of the electrode neuron interfaces (ENI). This course examines a study that investigated the intersection of these factors by analyzing the records and device settings for 156 children with confirmed diagnoses of either enlarged vestibular aqueduct (EVA) or Connexin-26 mutations.

The speaker discusses how school-based clinicians can advocate for students with voice disorders and their families by facilitating improved access to high-quality and comprehensive voice diagnostic and treatment services.
