Summary: This course explores factors that contribute to health inequities for individuals who report a hearing loss. Individuals with hearing loss report miscommunication, inaccessible health information, reduced awareness by health care providers, and low patient satisfaction while struggling with inadequate health literacy. Often, this is due to limited research, a lack of high-quality research, or the absence of a clear takeaway from external scientific literature. Learning how to navigate these barriers will assist clinicians in making patient-centered and evidence-based clinical decisions.
