Summary: The focus on technology during the COVID-19 pandemic, and in turn, the lessening of in-person interactions, calls for attention to social-emotional learning (SEL) as well as academics. This on demand webinar reviews the underlying causes of this disproportionality, the role that SLPs can play in prevention, and the importance of nonbiased assessment. Summary: This session addresses the realities of child abuse and the SLP’s responsibility to recognize and report abuse. The speaker discusses legal definitions, signs, and symptoms of child abuse as well as common perpetrators and how they gain access to children through a process called grooming.
