Summary: This course explores the most commonly fit devices for patients whose hearing is significantly poorer in one ear than the other (e.g., single-sided deafness or asymmetric hearing loss) and identify factors that impact device selection and hearing management. More recent research and professional experience have shown that providing supports and management strategies similar to those used with children who have bilateral hearing loss results in improved outcomes.
