Summary: The focus on technology during the COVID-19 pandemic, and in turn, the lessening of in-person interactions, calls for attention to social-emotional learning (SEL) as well as academics. This course shares a method using the metacognitive approach, Story Grammar Marker, with selections of children's literature that target SEL competencies through a narrative development lens.

Summary: Live captioning systems can be used in schools, clinical health/therapy settings, restaurants, banks, and other settings where captioning services are difficult to obtain or simply not available. This session identifies issues limiting the use of these systems, proposes solutions, and provides best practice suggestions for how to deploy universally accessible captioning, note-taking, and translation systems in all situations.

Summary: The experience of trauma or re-traumatization during a person's rehab stay can result in physical, psychological, and emotional health conditions, and can also impede therapeutic rapport, the patient's feelings of safety, and the overall healing and recovery process.
