Summary: Audiologists in clinics and private practices who bill Medicare have needed an order from a physician to provide hearing assessment services since the inception of the program. However, for 2023, Medicare removed the physician's order requirement in a way that has the potential to improve access to care for Medicare beneficiaries but also includes some limitations. Summary: Speech-language pathologists working in schools include measurable goals and benchmarks in students' IEPs. By reviewing speech sound assessment information, including narrow transcription of a student's utterances, the goals can be tailored to the student, thereby facilitating goal attainment. Summary: Writing meaningful social communication goals can be difficult, but using a strengths-based framework can make it a bit easier. In this course – which is broken into six 5-minute activities – the presenter will utilize a goals rubric to help school SLPs write meaningful and measurable social communication goals that support independence and engagement as long-term objectives. Then the presenter will guide you through actionable steps to use the rubric to write student goals and reflect on the outcomes.
