Summary: This on demand webinar will discuss how to target texting as a rehab goal to enhance communication participation in people with aphasia. The speaker will present current research on texting behaviors of people with aphasia, including tools for evaluating technology usage and texting abilities. The webinar will examine strategies and barriers to successful communication via texting for people with aphasia and their communication partners.

Summary: This session discusses a study that examined the feasibility of telehealth administration of narrative and procedural discourse tasks to individuals with TBI and matched controls. Results support the feasibility of collecting discourse samples via telehealth. Although the participants' discourse performance distinguished the TBI and control groups on the narrative task, no differences between the groups were noted for the procedural task.

Summary: This session addresses the question of why patients with COVID-19 have such diverse clinical presentations. The speaker zooms in at the microscopic level to explore the nature and frequency of neurologic sequelae of COVID-19, covering findings observed on neuroimaging and cerebrospinal fluid testing. The session summarizes data from neuropathological studies, discusses new studies on the involvement of the peripheral nervous system, and explores treatment considerations.
