Persisting /r/ distortions are common speech sound errors for many children and adolescents. This webinar describes /r/ intervention approaches that are rooted in sound science about the phonetics of /r/, basic principles of speech motor control, and evidence-based solutions.

  • Describe the articulatory requirements for /r/
  • Identify cueing strategies that are consistent with current evidence
  • Contrast principles of acquisition with principles of learning for successful /r/ treatment
