The Many Gray Areas of Ethical Decision Making (WEB16213-IND)
Defining what is ethical is not always clear cut and readily obvious; rather, most situations are multifaceted and involve many layers of ethical decision making in order to achieve the best possible result. This webinar utilizes scenarios to illustrate the ethical decision-making process as it relates to professional practice and the recently revised ASHA Code of Ethics (2016), effective March 1, 2016. Scenarios illustrate specific violations of the Code of Ethics, and the presenters discuss the most appropriate manner of resolution – and any potential sanctions – for each violation.
Learning Objectives:
You will be able to:
- describe what is new in the Code of Ethics (2016)
- implement the revised Code of Ethics as part of the daily practice of audiology and speech-language pathology
- report ethical violations to ASHA
