Course Description


Children and adults who use cochlear implants and have additional exceptionalities present challenges in diagnostic testing and therapeutic intervention for speech-language pathologists and audiologists. This session reviews current research on communication and quality of life in this population, while also highlighting real-world clinical practices in assessing, treating, and defining success in these patients.

This course was presented and recorded at the 2019 ASHA Convention. The session was developed by, and presenters invited by, Audiology Implantables.
