Six Principles of Intervention for Children With Hearing Loss (On Demand Webinar) (WEB19226)

Presenter(s): Susan Nittrouer, PhD
Course Description

Early intervention programs and technological advances have made it possible for children born with hearing loss to attain levels of spoken language proficiency not previously possible. But these children need appropriate intervention to acquire spoken language at their optimal level. This webinar explores six principles of intervention that can effectively facilitate the acquisition of spoken language. The speaker discusses relevant research and case studies to support the six principles and their role in maximizing outcomes.

Learning Objectives:
You will be able to:

  • list each principle that underlies your current approach to intervention for children with hearing loss, explain the derivation of that principle, and discuss whether current research continues to support its application
  • list and describe the information you need to develop an intervention plan for a child with hearing loss
  • apply the six principles when developing individual treatment and/or educational plans for children with hearing loss

What is a webinar?

Webinars are slide-based presentation and question-and-answer sessions that you can watch live at a pre-scheduled date and time or on-demand at your leisure after the live event occurs.
