This webinar will discuss how to target texting as a rehab goal to enhance communication participation in people with aphasia. The speaker will present current research on texting behaviors of people with aphasia, including tools for evaluating technology usage and texting abilities. The webinar will examine strategies and barriers to successful communication via texting for people with aphasia and their communication partners.

Presenter Information

Jaime B. Lee, PhD, CCC-SLP (she/her/hers) is an associate professor in the Communication Sciences and Disorders Department at the University of Utah. She teaches courses in the areas of research methods and neurogenic communication disorders and is engaged in clinical research focused on improving communication and life participation in adults with chronic aphasia. She has published on topics such as attention and aphasia, computer-based treatments for aphasia, and facilitation of aphasia groups. Her research interests include exploring transactional and interactional aspects of texting with aphasia.
