Course Description

Audiologists are responsible for accurate reporting of diagnoses, procedures, devices, and services they provide by selecting appropriate codes for claim submissions. Accurate coding ensures that health care services and devices are properly documented, minimizing claim denials and supporting effective reimbursement processes. This course provides a comprehensive introduction to coding and billing and how to navigate the complexities of accurate coding.

  • Identify CPT and ICD-10 codes used in the U.S. to report diagnosis and procedures 
  • Follow the common rules and guidelines for accurate coding and billing 
  • Problem-solve common coding and payment challenges that audiologists face

Presenter Information

Leisha Eiten, AuD, CCC-A, received her MA in audiology from the University of Iowa and her AuD from ATSU through the Arizona School of Health Sciences. Leisha currently serves as the Director of Audiology Services at Boys Town National Research Hospital. She is a member of ASHA’s Health Care Economics Committee (HCEC) and is ASHA’s audiology advisor to the American Medical Association’s Relative Value Update Committee - Health Care Professionals Advisory Committee (AMA RUC-HCPAC).
