ASHA Learning Pass

This session reviews information regarding the team-based assessment and management of patients with mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) and comorbid tinnitus symptoms. Learners will be able to develop assessment and treatment plans through the speakers' team-based approach. The presenters illustrate response outcomes measures through case studies.

Presenter Information

Jennifer Thompson Tetnowski, PhD, CCC-SLP, is an Assistant Professor at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. She has been a practicing speech-language pathologist for over 20 years, treating aphasia, dementia, traumatic brain injury, and transgender voice & communication in a variety of settings. Her research has focused on using conversation analysis to demonstrate group cohesiveness as well as treatment efficacy. She has published over 13 manuscripts and presented over 35 times on these topics.

Dr. Suzanne Kimball, AuD, CCC-A, professor at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, engages in research, supervision, and patient care, specializing in tinnitus and sound sensitivities. Dr. Kimball has presented regionally to internationally and has published numerous papers in scholarly journals. Her recent textbook, Tinnitus and Sound Sensitivities Casebook, was published in 2021.
