Presenter Information

Briana Dornan Nichols, AuD, CCC-A (she/her/hers) is a pediatric audiologist with 25 years of experience in the areas of advanced diagnostic measures and provision of habilitative services. Dr. Nichols has presented nationally and internationally, published peer-reviewed articles, and authored a recent book chapter covering a range of topics including resolving sensorineural hearing loss, permanent conductive hearing loss, and creation of efficient/effective programs to enhance access to pediatric audiological care. Dr. Nichols's work at The Learning Center for the Deaf, and previously at Boston Children's Hospital, has allowed for amazing opportunities to learn from children with hearing loss.

Lydia Colón, AuD, CCC-A (she/her/hers) is the current Director of Audiology and Public School Partnerships program at The Learning Center for the Deaf. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Massachusetts – Amherst, with a certificate in Latin American Studies, and was awarded her Master of Science and Doctor of Audiology degrees from Gallaudet University. Dr. Colón had previously completed her last year of doctoral practicum at the world-renowned Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona. Her passion is hearing health care as well as rehabilitative measures, including hearing aids and cochlear implants. She is a strong advocate of equity and access to health care services for marginalized and immigrant populations, spearheading the credentialing of the TLC Audiology Clinic for MassHealth services soon after her arrival in 2019. Dr. Colón is fluent in English, Spanish, and American Sign Language.
