This webinar will discuss evaluating children with voice disorders, including determining the appropriate clinical path to a comprehensive voice evaluation. The speaker will present strategies and techniques for collecting and evaluating voice samples; highlight no-tech and low-tech assessment methods; and discuss the importance of identifying children with dysphonic voices from an educational and social-emotional perspective. This presentation will be relevant for SLPs in schools, private practice, and/or health care settings who see children of all ages with voice disorders.

Presenter Information

Liz Heller Murray, PhD, CCC-SLP (she/her) is an assistant professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Temple University, where she is the director of the Vocal Development Lab. The goal of her research is to leverage information about voice and speech development to improve current therapeutic interventions for children with voice disorders.
