Pandemic's Impact on Communication, Mental Health, and QoL of People Who Stutter (PD102768)
This session shares findings of an exploratory survey study exploring the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on communication, mental health, and quality of life (QoL) in people who stutter. The course discusses how the pandemic affects people with communication disorders, then shifts to discussing mental health, communication, and QoL in people who stutter and how the COVID-19 pandemic amplifies existing challenges.

Presenter Information
Shriya Basu, PhD, CCC-SLP (presenting author) is an Assistant Professor at California State University-Long Beach. Her past and current research projects are aimed at understanding the multifactorial model of stuttering and how that impacts overall communication experiences in people who stutter. As a bilingual SLP, she is also passionate about cultural humility in the assessment and management of communication disorders.
