SLP Roles for Treating Adults With Concussions: Expanding the Toolbox (On Demand Webinar) (WEB17208)

Presenter(s): Kathryn Hardin, MA, CCC-SLP, CBIST
Course Description

Adults with post-concussive syndrome often struggle with challenges in work, family, and quality of life. Our professional roles continue to evolve as concussion is better understood at both a physiological and functional level. The diffuse injury that is concussion results in highly variable presentations, and as SLPs we are tasked with being ready for anything. This webinar will briefly cover concussion assessment and then focus mostly on evidence-based intervention for adults. It will consider a breadth of clients, including those with sports injuries and blast injuries as well as those with falls and accidents.

Learning Objectives:
You will be able to:

  • identify three key factors to assessing causality
  • define the SLP’s role on a multidisciplinary concussion team
  • identify three evidence-based interventions for adults with concussions
