Audiologists and SLPs often face challenging ethical dilemmas related to evaluation and intervention with multicultural and multilingual populations. Interpretation and application of the revised ASHA Code of Ethics (2023) may seem daunting and leave you with questions such as, “How do these changes impact me?” and “Can I refuse to provide services if I don't feel competent to treat a non-English-speaking individual?" This webinar will review the provisions of the revised Code of Ethics related to culturally responsive intervention and share problem-solving strategies to work through ethical dilemmas you might encounter in professional practice.

Presenter Information
Eusebia V. Mont, MS, CCC-SLP (she/her/hers), is an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Maryland, College Park. She is the director of the Cultural-Linguistic Diversity Emphasis Program and director of the Master's Program in Speech-Language Pathology. Additionally, Eusebia teaches Multicultural Issues in Communication Disorders and is a consultant for the Office of Undergraduate Studies to support programmatic DEI-focused learning outcomes. Her clinical interests include communication across the life span and infusing diverse perspectives into course design. Before joining the HESP faculty, she worked in various educational and rehabilitation settings and private practice.
