Course Description

This session explores clinical considerations for successfully evaluating and treating phonological awareness deficits in children with speech sound disorders. The speaker identifies various phonological awareness skills and shares ideas for how to successfully integrate phonological awareness practice into speech intervention sessions and classroom-based lessons, particularly for children with speech sound disorders.

Presenter Information

Kathryn Cabbage, PhD, CCC-SLP, is a speech-language pathologist and an Assistant Professor at Brigham Young University. Her research interests center on links between early speech and language skills and later literacy. She is interested in identifying predictors related to reading difficulty in children with speech sound disorders and/or language impairment.
