Verification of Hearing Aid Direct Streaming: A How-To Guide for the Digital Listening Environment (PD102513)
Streamed audio has grown from a technological novelty into a distinct listening environment for hearing aid users, as smartphones and direct-streaming-enabled hearing aids become commonplace. This presents a unique listening environment that can prove difficult to verify, as streamed audio is not an external stimulus and cannot be verified using conventional methods. This session describes a new and accessible verification method aimed at the streamed audio environment, ensuring that hearing aid users receive optimal benefit in their digital soundscape.

Presenter Information
Neil Wright, AuD, F-AAA (Presenting Author), is an audiologist in Global Audiology at GN Hearing in Glenview, Illinois. In this role, Neil conducts clinical trials of new hearing aid technology as well as facilitates the testing and development of hearing aid fitting software. He earned his AuD at Northwestern University and is Board Certified in Audiology.

Joseph (Joey) Hribar, AuD (Presenting Author), is a research Audiologist with the Global Audiology team at GN Hearing in Glenview, Illinois. He is responsible for conducting clinical hearing aid trials, which includes verifying and validating hearing instruments, accessories, and other connective devices. His interests lie in modern technology and its impact on hearing health care and the patient experience. He earned his Doctor of Audiology degree from The Ohio State University in Columbus.
