Summary: By conducting ethnographic interviews during assessment, clinicians can develop more personalized and effective treatment plans that truly fit the needs of the patient, client, or student. DeJarnette and Wegner report on the classroom and clinical training that graduate students in speech-language pathology receive in augmentative and alternative communication.
