Summary: Distinguishing between language disorder and language difference can be a challenge when a child speaks a nonmainstream English dialect. This journal self-study presents research findings that clinicians can implement with this population in their practice. Summary: Multilingual children are often over- or under-identified as having speech- and/or language-related disorders. This on demand webinar reviews the underlying causes of this disproportionality, the role that SLPs can play in prevention, and the importance of nonbiased assessment.
