Summary: Children with spoken language disorders often experience difficulties with reading as well. SLPs – particularly those working in school-based settings – have a responsibility to prevent, assess, and treat reading impairments. Summary: Aging produces predictable and specific changes to the human respiratory and digestive systems and predisposes older people to more severe effects of—and more protracted limitations secondary to—diseases and surgical procedures.
