The speaker addresses the importance of understanding how a patient’s dysphagia fits into the bigger medical and quality-of-life picture, backed by bioethical considerations and evidence. The session discusses how SLPs are not just one cog in a complex, interprofessional machine, but often the linchpin for optimal care of the patient and their family.
