Summary: This session discusses a project that established a cross-sector national consortium of self-advocates with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), family advocates, community providers, and health care professionals. The consortium guides and evaluates an environmental scan and literature review on best practices in educating health care professional students in the care of persons with IDD, including health care professional students addressing communication disorders.

Summary: Live captioning systems can be used in schools, clinical health/therapy settings, restaurants, banks, and other settings where captioning services are difficult to obtain or simply not available. This session identifies issues limiting the use of these systems, proposes solutions, and provides best practice suggestions for how to deploy universally accessible captioning, note-taking, and translation systems in all situations.

Summary: The negative impacts of poor literacy skills are not limited to academic coursework; they can persist into adulthood and negatively affect many elements of quality of life. This session illustrates the important role of SLPs in contributing to individualized transition plans (ITPs) for students who struggle with written language skills to ensure a successful transition to life after school. Summary: Clinical services for tinnitus have expanded greatly since the "masking" method was introduced in the 1970s, but no one treatment method has proven any more effective than any other. This on demand webinar will explain Tinnitus Stepped-Care, a framework for providing tinnitus clinical services. The framework suggests guiding principles that are essential in each of six progressive steps of tinnitus clinical care rather than promoting specific procedures for assessment and treatment.
